The XK300 Essence and its box
Reads your resting heart rate and breathing through the duvet, every night, and sends them to the clinician who looks after you.
And for patients in payer-sponsored remote patient monitoring programmes. United States only. Co-pays may apply. Prescription only.
Our remote-monitoring partner confirms eligibility within 24 hours. If you qualify, you receive a prescription and a link to complete the order. How it was validated, what is cleared and what is published: read the science.
The Essence reads your resting heart rate and breathing every night, from the wall, and your care team sees each night beside your own usual. In nursing homes using the same XK300, the readings had moved an average of 4 to 6 days before a urinary tract infection, COVID-19 or end-of-life decline was recorded. The numbers, below. Three short films explain how it reads you and what makes it different.
Intervals are averages from retrospective analyses, measured after the fact, and are shown as research. The XK300 is cleared for measuring heart rate and breathing rate in adults; it is not an alarm system. XK does not predict or diagnose health events.
Radar physics in plain words, the peer-reviewed accuracy studies, FDA and international clearances, the outcomes record, and what we still do not have. Every figure names its source.
Read the scienceFor people living in the United States. The XK300 Essence is supplied through remote patient monitoring (RPM), a Medicare-covered service that your care team bills; many Medicare Advantage and payer plans cover it too. One of our care coordinators will be in touch to arrange a call with one of our doctors. Expect the call from (855) 289-2002.
Outside the United States, or without coverage, the Essence is not available to individuals at this time. Anywhere in the world, Kardian Somily, our wellness product, can be bought directly. See Somily.
Your care team bills Medicare under the remote patient monitoring codes: CPT 99453 (set-up and education), 99454 (the device and daily readings, at least 16 days in 30), 99457 (the first 20 minutes of monitoring and care management each month) and 99458 (each further 20 minutes). Where you are also enrolled in chronic care management (CCM, CPT 99490, 99439, 99491), the same readings support that programme.
Coverage, co-pays and deductibles depend on your plan. The care coordinator confirms yours before anything is ordered. Codes are shown for information; your provider decides what is billed.

Two strips of tape, one cable to a USB plug. Then go to sleep.

About 1.5 metres from the floor, on your side of the bed. If you share the bed, left or right above you. If you sleep alone, the centre.

It does not have to sit high. Closer to the body, just above the mattress, keeps the cable out of sight.

Out of sight between the wall and the headboard, as long as the bed does not need to sit flush to the wall and the headboard is not a solid metal plate.
Resting heart rate and resting breathing rate, including the breathing waveform, shared continuously with your remote-monitoring team.
Estimated from heart rate and breathing patterns, as general wellness information. Not for diagnosing or treating any condition.
From the night's data, an estimate of how recharged you are. Think of it as a battery for body and mind.
Works through bedding and clothing. Nothing to wear, remember or charge.
A personal baseline over time. Changes are measured against your own pattern, not a population average, so your care team sees what is unusual for you.
Only anonymised health-signal data goes to your care team. No camera, no microphone. Everything else stays private.
Your remote-monitoring team watches around the clock. Family members and caregivers can be given access too.
The same XKare app pairs with the Essence. Your care team reads the clinical record on their side; you see your own nights: sleep, breathing, resting heart rate and how settled the night was, each beside your recent ones. Sleep and readiness are shown as general wellness information, not as a diagnosis.

Retrospective findings from the XK300 in nursing homes, and published work: the average interval between a shift in readings and the recorded diagnosis, measured after the fact. Part of ongoing discovery and research, shown as what we found, not as claims. Indications for use: heart rate and respiration rate in adults. Not an alarm system. XK does not predict or diagnose health events.
Larry and Susan bought the sensor and have lived with it at home for months. Precious Myers Brown uses it in the facilities she runs. Dr. Serrano is a physician whose facilities use the clinical XK300. Courtney lived with the sensor for several weeks and was compensated for her time. Each speaks from their own experience; none was scripted.
No. It is a prescription device, supplied through your doctor, care provider or remote-monitoring programme. If you want a wellness product for your own bedroom, without a prescription, that is Kardian Somily. It is a separate product, not the cleared device.
The care team that prescribed it. There is no camera and no microphone; the sensor reads movement, not pictures or sound.
It collects from the closest body. Mount it above your side of the bed, left or right, and it reads you. Two people, one sensor each, above each side, each linked to its own person by your care team. There is no app to set up: the Essence reports to your remote-monitoring team, not to your phone. Hugging or drifting over for a while is fine: if it picks up two sets of vital signs it pauses, and with thousands of readings a night, a couple of hours on the wrong side barely moves your baseline. A wall socket for the USB plug and the communication module that comes with it. Your provider sets up the connection.
Yes. The radar runs at more than a hundred times less power than the Wi-Fi router already in your home, and has been used in hospitals and nursing homes since 2021.
